Waiting here for my Brother to visit on 5th April has me feeling bored bored bored, I am doing the Boston run with them and don't want to cheat and have a look before he turns up.
I couldn't moor permanently on the Fossdyke, I like to be able to keep moving, still all this winding is giving me some practice.
To entertain myself the other day I discovered that it is not so easy to wind at Saxilby when there is a wide boat in the way, and only a small gap between them and the narrowboats further up! I was a little bit wedged for a while with my rudder and back fender neatly in the scallops of the high wall and bows kissing their bows.
I had to walk the gunwhale and push off with my foot, back down the gunwhale and then wind the boat the other way so that I was in control of the end of the boat that had to be in the gap!
