Chesterfield Canal Festival

I was indeed there and went especially to see the 'Wandrin' Bark' fellows on account of Bones said they were now into making fabulous jams jellies and chutneys from stuff off the towpath.  Well Belle is, not sure how much input Capn A has in the new enterprise.  I came away with one of each, the chutney made with Bones's Medlars apparently.  I have already scoffed most of the rose petal jelly which I was told to spread sparingly onto toast.  Yeah right, it was lavishly spread on fresh bread.  Yum.

I did take photos on my phone but those taken by Captain Ahab are far superior so I will let his stand  (well he did have a proper grown up camera with lenses and wotnot) I pointed him in the correct direction of Chesterfield and in thanks he took a photo of me.  Fair exchange is no robbery they say.

Actually I also went to meet fellow working party folk to check they were still working hard without me to 'help'.  I delivered a set of accounts back to one of them and also walked along the wash wall that I had helped to make way back in 2003 2004.  Looking good I have to say.

"I made that!"

Ok so I was major mate wot holds tools and a strictly zero end of the tape measure type of person.  But I did put up shuttering and took it down again for the concrete pouring.  I made concrete and cement.  I did wheelbarrowing and some jungle bashing. I drank the tea and started off the Working Party Calendar to help raise money.
PLUS
I made sure the van wasn't backed into the bit of canal that was in water just this side of the bridge.
It was a close run thing I have to say as I was a fair distance away but luckily he didn't ignore my jumping up and down, arms flailing and high pitched squealing.
